Experience Animals Up Close on Vacation

Kids love animals, and a family hotel with a petting zoo is perfect for guests of all ages.

And, of course, it’s a real highlight for parents, too. Petting, feeding, and watching the little bunnies is one of the most popular activities on a family vacation in Tyrol. With our animal enclosure at the old hay barn, surrounded by nature, we’ve created a unique retreat that gives children the chance to experience animals up close and enjoy nature to the fullest.

A small but charming petting zoo at the family hotel. Across the bridge by the sun terrace, an idyllic path leads through the forest, past the forest playground, uphill to a clearing where our “Alter Heustadl” (old hay barn) from 1901 stands. This is where our rabbits live. From spring through fall, they’re allowed to roam the outdoor area from time to time. However, because of our birds of prey (such as the red kite), we only let the rabbits play in the garden temporarily.

Would you like to feed our animals? The dwarf rabbits, in particular, always bring a smile to the children’s faces! In our large animal enclosure, the goats Rosi and Leni, as well as young sheep, are frolicking and eagerly awaiting a visit.

For safety reasons, however, we do not allow visitors to pet or feed our goats and sheep.

Stream and Hay Shed

Our nature-inspired play area near the animals at the old hay barn is a real highlight for children. In just a few minutes, you can go straight from the family hotel into unspoiled nature—an exclusive experience that makes our children’s hotel in the Zillertal special.

On hot summer days, the pleasant temperatures of the fresh spring water offer the perfect opportunity to play and marvel. While parents relax on the garden benches or lounge furniture, children can explore nature. The gentle splashing in the shallow water, building small dams, or playing in the sand all help foster their creativity and fine motor skills.

Here, children can experiment with stones, leaves, and pieces of wood—a great way to engage their senses and spark their curiosity in this unique setting.
